Orange Zest

This kitchen centered on three passions: cooking, baking, and pottery making. But when it came to color, the client had only one in mind—orange—to pay homage to a broken (but still cherished) self-made bowl. Ultimately, embracing other hues like amber, yellow-orange, and even pumpkin would add depth to the rich material palette.

Rich honey-glazed maple cabinets and custom table create a casual, comfortable composition.

First and foremost on the client’s priority list: industry-leading appliances that would accommodate cooking and baking while also making her smile.

Inlaying the pottery bowl into the breakfast bar backsplash salvaged the work of art—putting the piece on prominent display for all to enjoy.
