To minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19, the following safety measures are provided on CARNEMARK renovations where the client lives at home.

WORK AREA PROTECTIONS

Temporary plastic barrier walls—taped on all sides, top, and bottom—will be installed to create a confined work area. A zippered dust door will be installed for egress.

A hand-washing/sanitizing station will be set up in a designated transition area for anyone entering or exiting the construction area. This includes all CARNEMARK employees, trade subcontractors, and homeowners.

Public workspaces and non-shared bathrooms will be wiped down with disinfectant 2x daily, at the start and end of every workday.

Any frequently used tools, equipment, or touched surfaces (door handles, handrails, machinery controls, cell phones, tablets) will be cleaned and disinfected regularly throughout the workday.

Return air registers inside the work area will be covered with HEPA filters.

A portable toilet with a hand-sanitizing station inside will be rented for each location where a non-shared bathroom is not available for use in the client’s home.

HEALTH PROTOCOLS

Any employee—CARNEMARK or trade subcontractor—who exhibits cold or flu-like symptoms will be sent home. These symptoms include fever, cough, and shortness of breath.

Workers will be required to stay home and not come to work until free of fever (100°F or greater using an oral thermometer) coughing, and shortness of breath for at least 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing or other symptom-altering medicines (e.g., cough suppressants).

If a member of the client’s household shows cold or flu-like symptoms, we may suspend work on the project until we are in agreement that the individual poses no risk to our workers and/or is no longer contagious.

GENERAL PRECAUTIONS

All lead safe work and OSHA practices, as applicable, will be followed. These include careful dust protection as well as high-efficiency particulate air vacuums and Build Clean air scrubbers.

Job site meetings, such as preconstruction and subcontractor walkthroughs, will be performed virtually whenever possible. The on-site Project Manager will connect online or via phone with our team and trade subcontractors as needed.

Subcontractor interaction will be minimized whenever possible. When more than one worker is required on the job site, social distancing requirements will be observed.

These mandatory Safety Measures will be posted on every job site.
